What Colors are Hot
for 2008-2009 Weddings?
Two different wedding colors is an extremely chic trend lately. This scheme is not for the traditional bride and groom, it is for the modern couple who wants her wedding to "pop". This trend gained popularity over the past few years starting with basic soft colors; we are now seeing more adventurous color schemes for 2008-2009 weddings. Remember though, before selecting your colors, think about your photographs - will you be able to reflect fondly on your wedding twenty years from now if your photos are filled with bright, trendy colors? If you're ok with going “non-traditional”, then this style of wedding may be for you. But if you think you may cringe with disgust at your twenty fifth wedding anniversary party when your children present old wedding photos for all to see, then you may want to pick just one color or simple neutral tones for your wedding. Too much color may be just too much for both you and your guests. Here are some popular color combinations for your wedding:
Pink/Orange
Very trendy, very modern. Pink is usually selected as the main color with pops of orange. Think of the pink and orange found in Gerber daisy's for your color palette. Hot pink bridesmaid's dresses with an orange and pink sash is nice. This combination is a beautiful choice for summer or early spring weddings.
Pink/Brown
This color combination is good for a bride who is afraid of taking too much risk. Combining pink with a neutral shade works nicely together. You could use either as the main color or the accent color. This is great color combination for all seasons.
Aqua/Brown
One of the most popular last year and I feel will continue to be this year as well. Aqua reminds us of Tiffany blue, and when you pair it with brown, it makes the color easier on the eyes. Either can be used as the main or accent color. This color is a nice way to warm up a cold Long Island Wedding. Try putting the bridesmaids in a chocolate dress with a Tiffany blue sash.
Aqua/Red
Warm red meets cool blue, fire and ice. This is a great color combination for both winter and summer weddings. These colors together are modern and hip. Another option if red is too much, pair it with soft orange.
Slate/Lime
One of the most popular at the moment. Slate bridesmaids dresses accented with green and white bouquets. This color combination is extremely flattering and contemporary. It is soft on the eyes while the lime adds a beautiful splash of color. A great early spring combination.
Sky Blue / Light Green
This combination is very beach bride. Light blues remind us of the sky and warm summer days, while light green is reminiscent of the water, grass and trees. Found together in nature, means it will also work well in weddings and design.
Pale Yellow / Deep Purple
Purple is a symbol of royalty and wealth, and pale yellow compliments it quite well. This is a modern version of the popular school colors of blue and yellow. Think of iris when planning this color combination.
