New Twists on Old Traditions.

Tired of the Old, Here is Something New?
Traditions are wonderful, but why can’t you put a personal touch on some “outdated traditions”?   Don't be afraid to tweak things to make your day truly yours. Here are some ideas to get you started?

Slow Dancing No More
Don’t want to be another couple swaying cluelessly to your first dance. Change things up and heat up the floor with a tango or salsa?  As long as you and your partner don’t have 2 left feet and have the time to take a few lesions, why not go for it?  This first dance “change” makes for one heck of a wedding video and plenty of smiles, laughs and applause from your guests.  If you are not feeling so risky... just having your emcee invite the guests on the dance floor to enjoy the song with you.

Throw Out the Old Toast
The bride’s parents, maid of honor and best man do not have to be the only ones to toast… why not take the time to thank guests for coming and maybe even the time to thank your parents you may have contributed to the affair.

Anything Goes
Tradition is typically father/daughter, mother/son dances.  One nice spin is to have a mother/daughter dance inviting other mother’s and daughters to join in.

Sweet Tooth
It appears a new trend in the wedding “cake” is not really a cake at all but yet cupcakes.  A good baker knows how to take a otherwise “childish” cupcake fantasy and turn it into something as magical as the old fashion wedding cake.  Another great idea is to use on of yours and your grooms favorite dessert.  Brownies, Crème Brule, Carrot Cake and even Cheesecake can put a new spin on the wedding cake.

Off We Go, but You Go First
Brides and grooms are often sent on their way to wedding bliss with a shower of rice and then disappear into the night in their car labeled “Just Married”. It seems more and more couples are staying until the very end to dance the night away. Instead of leaving first, the couples are sending guests on their way—providing shuttles, taxis, double-decker buses, or even boats, to ensure their guests get home or to their hotel safe safely.
